In Memory of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew

23 March 2015
In the early morning,  a piece of sad news broke out to the whole country...
Former Prime Minister/Our Founding Father passed away on 3.18am in Singapore General Hospital at the age of 91. He was admitted to SGH because of severe pneumonia on Feb 5.
He was a founding father of Singapore.  He make this little dot possible. Building a third world country to a first world nation. It was not easy.
We want to take this opportunity to express and dedicate our utmost respect and gratitude to the one of the founding fathers of Singapore.
Thank you Sir for your contributions to the nation!
Rest In Peace, Mr. Lee

Ending of 2014

13 Dec 2014

In about 2 weeks time, we will be welcoming a new year.

2015 is a significant year for Singapore as it celebrated its 50th years of independence. Singapore changed from a third world country to a first world country. We are able to live in this first world country is because of the hard work by our pioneer leaders and the pioneer generation. Many seen Singapore won't survive, but in the end we still did it.

This year is also a significant year to me because I finally ORD! These 2 years in army is not easy especially I'm holding on to a very important appointment. Many people may think logistics is slack and easy. They are definitely wrong. Without logistics, many training can never occurred. I learned a lot of army items including dummy and real weapons.I remembered clearly that my superiors commended me that in a logistics team, I'm a type of Regimental Quartermaster (RQMS). This commendation I would remembered it forever. In these 1 year plus in the unit, I would like to thank both of my superiors, RQMS and S4. Thank you! Lastly, I would like to thank Chonghoew and Zhiming. They are the ones who always by my side when I'm down. Thank you! Hope my understudy, Sofie, will continue to do his best and wishing him good luck! Taking over my appointment is never easy because he must learned almost everything exactly like an RQ.

This year, I also start my degree course in NTU. I just ended my 1st Semester, hopefully I can do well. The results will be out on 29 December. My aim of my results is a 4.0 out of 5.0.

It was not easy as compared in polytechnics. In university,  it is important to listen to lectures and follow up all the tutorials. Weather or not you want to achieve a pass, it is important to do that. As compared to polytechnics,  study can come second,  you can follow up easily. The days in polytechnics was really the best!!

These are the 2 important events for me this year. I would remember them forever.

2015 will be the important year for singapore as it celebrates its 50th birthday and also for the government. Next year, is the last year before the next General Election (GE), hence, the government has to introduce more policies benefiting its people before the next GE.
For me, my second year in University will also commence in August.  Hopefully, I will continue to do well!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Singapore 49th Birthday

9 Aug 2014

Today Singapore celebrate its 49 years of independence.
In 1965, many did not believe Singapore would make survived. However, we did. Our founding father, former Prime Minister,  Mr. Lee Kuan Yew made this country possible.
Today, we introduced Pioneer Generation Package as a recognition to our parents or grandparents.  They had made this country survived because of their hard work. We as a younger generation must appreciate that.
We must continue to maintain this little red dot its stability and prosperity!

My wishes:
Wishing our former PM Lee, always to be strong & healthy.
Happy 49th birthday, Singapore

2014 Here It Comes

30 Dec 2013

Another a year has passed again, I'm a year older again.

Looking back at my life journey in 2013...

Jan 2013:
On Jan 5, my sister celebrate her birthday. Next, a good news came, where my parents going to be grandparents soon. My brother's wife who was a Thai was pregnant. My brother have to hold a wedding.

Hence, on Jan 20, my parents flew to Thailand to attend their wedding.

Feb 2013:
We celebrated the Lunar New Year.
Lunar New Year always the best time where we gather together and have fun.

In camp, we had the dinner at Pizza Hut. Seeing this photo, a lot of memories came to my mind...
For the first time, we went to Sentosa to visit the flowers exhibits. Every year, Sentosa hold this exhibits but we had never had the chance to went there. This year, my wish came true, we went there. Very beautiful, this images of the flowers cannot be forgotten in your mind.

Mar 2013:
Celebrated my friend 21st birthday. Location @ Home Team NS Pasir Ris.

Apr 2013:
My friend (Eric & Wanhao) and I went to Night Safari.

On Apr 16, Eric, Wanhao and me myself went to Taiwan :) We went for a 9 days and 8 nights trip. We went to Taichung for 3 days 2 nights trip and followed by Taipei. Each of the places, we hired a taxi. Luckily to say both are very friendly, they were Mr. JinZhong and Mr. Meeky Yang. Because of them, we had a good and memorable trip.

The most memorable in Taichung was the HeHuanShan. At there, we had to wake up about 4am in the morning to go to the peak of HeHuanShan to see sunrise. Very sad that we unable to see any sunrise because of the rainy weather.

In Taipei, the most memorable should be climbing up YangMingShan. On the way up there, strong winds and heavy rain was our biggest obstacle, however, we managed to get up there. With many unhappiness, we managed to overcome. This makes our friendship more stronger indeed.

(The above picture is the QiXing Peak of YangMingShan)

(The above picture, centre is Mr. Meeky Yang)

May 2013:
(Nothing much happened)

Jun 2013:
We celebrated my dad's birthday! (6 June)

On June 29, Eric, Wanhao and I went for a one day DURIAN tour in JB, Malaysia.

Jul 2013:
My sister was a volunteer in this year NDP, hence, she was awarded 2 preview tickets, hence my mother and I went for the preview on 27 Jul. It's been a long time since I attended NDP. My last NDP was during 2003, when I was still a P5 student. In 2003, I attended NDP at the old National Stadium. That day, it was memorable for me to attend NDP at Marina Bay.

Aug 2013:
Singapore celebrated its 48th national day.

Sep 2013:
On 31st Aug, we went to Batam for a 2D1N trip.
The most memorable trip was the seafood we had there...

On Sept 21, I celebrated my 21st birthday. I hold it at the Aranda Country Club. The most happiest day on this year! Since I graduated from poly in Apr 2012, I never seen them, it's like more than a year already. I was shocked to see them coming down to celebrate my birthday! Thank you to them. And also my secondary friends, because of their support, this celebration won't be a success. And not forgetting my family, their great help was greatly appreciated. Thank you once again. I would remember this day forever!!

Oct 2013:
Celebrated Kenney's birthday at a Thai Restaurant. (Kenney, Karina, Shawn, Weng Tat, Andy, Dong Jin, Andy)

We received news (in camp) that our RQ, mdm jennifer will be posting out in Feb 2014. The new RQ will come in in Jan 2014.
Of course to say, I will miss her because I've work for her for more than half a year. I hope I'II work well with the new RQ!

On Dec 20, Eric, Wanhao and I went to Malacca for a 3D2N trip.
The most memorable is the crepe we eat. I remembered it forever because of the layered cake. The texture inside your mouth can never be forgotten!

Looking Forward in 2014...

2013 Come to an End

22 Nov 2013

Today marks the 2nd year of my driving license...

2013 is coming to an end soon in like a months time. Seeing my friends passed their driving test, I also happy for them. Now, waiting for the day where we can rent a car and drive around.

These few months in camp was not good to me and also to my friends. Since we have a new manpower officer, many BAD things have already happened. To be more specific, a manpower officer stay in HQ of the camp itself, his job is to take care of the manpower in the camp and also the punishments of the individuals.

In the Headquarter of a camp, there are a total 4 officers taking care of his branch. Each of them have different appointment. They are given appointment as S1, the manpower officer, S2, the security officer, S3, 'training' officer, S4, logistics and financial officer. Headquarter is equivalent to a company, hence, the OC also known to be head of the company will be the logistical officer. Of course, in the headquarter, giving commands to all 4 officers will be Commanding Officer (CO).

I'm under the logistics branch. At the headquarter of the logistics branch, I've to make sure I've supply enough for the other company. I'm taking care of a total of 4 company. Tired to say, many calls have to entertained.

Recently, my friends was punished as this manpower officer found cigarette buds in bunk. I still think punishment is too heavy. During their confinement, this officer demand a lot. Luckily, we have our S4, with his help, he at least don't take things for granted and kept demanding.

In my point of view, his appointment in HQ is the lowest among the other three. By appointment, he should ask for views before starting to demand things. In  HQ and his ex-company (coyline), life is different. In HQ, we won't talk more on ranks etc. but more on appointment. Hence, his way of doing things only makes people hate him. How he enable to work so long?

My RQ posting out in Feb 2014, seriously miss her when she post out. Feels happy to have work with her. As a like a DY (deputy), I learned and grown a lot. Thank you! The Branch will missed you!

There will be a post ending 2013, look forward to it....

This year, I turned 21 and I hold my birthday celebration at Aranda Country Club.

I was touched to see my polytechnic friends to be there, Since after graduated, we had never met up again. Finally after more than a year, we met again. This feeling cannot be described.
When I started thinking about them, I would start to recall the times we were in polytechnic....

Remembering the first year in polytechnic...
Before we met, some of us were already together as friends. From what I remembered, WeiJun and I were friends, Kenney and Hakim were friends, Andy, JiaQi, Shawn were friends. This was fate that bought all of us together. From that day, we gone through ups and downs together. I'II always remembered it forever.

Recently, I received a letter from one of you, Mr. Shawn. I'm touched by his letter. Thinking of him, I remembered the days during our studying. From very first year, not sure is it fate, he was in the same class with me. We were so called close friends. We gone through many things together. I can say we were the best working partner, almost every project, he was my teammates and also my group leader. Seriously, the ups and downs would never be forgotten.

Shawn,
Thanks for coming down for my birthday. I'm glad to see you again although we've not met for more than a year,  it touched me. I'm happy to know that you are satisfied with the food. You've played different roles in my poly life. This roles were essential which helped me gone through many ups and downs. I'm glad to have you as a friend.

To the rest, (DongJin, Fazwin, Kenney, Andy, Mattew)
Thank you for coming down. It is great to see you guys again, It really touched me deeply. Although we've not met for more than a year, you guys still remembered me. I've so happy and hope that I can see you guys again one of these days.

Also, not to forget my unit's friend. For those who ORD, Raymond and Chiam, thank you for coming down. I'm happy to see you guys here. I'm touched that you were here although we as friends for about half a year. Thank you guys!

Secondary friends, I can only say thank you for helping out and make this occasion a memorable one. Many years of friendship would always maintain and cherished! THANK YOU!

Days in Camp

21 August 2013

This is the first time I'm writing a blog in camp, where should I start?!

Few weeks ago, we were preparing an audit check. This were always the most busiest period. With now lacking of manpower, we had to overcome with many difficulties. Things happened when people did not cooperate well. Example, when people started working, there are people sit there and watch. I hate this mindset. They should have more auto mindset where people working, be helpful enough to reach out to them and help them.

Last week, I was been nominated as the best soldier of the month. My initial thinking was that I don't deserve this award. During their meeting, they approved and agreed that I won this award. Anyway, thanks to my S4 for nominating me. I'm grateful and happy about it.

This week we had our audit check, the result from our log side was bad. Seriously, feel sad because we did a lot but we unable to maintain the standard that we had at the last audit check. Due to small careless mistakes which caused this to happen, feel bad about it. Hope overall result was good so that there would be no reinspection. Now we left the result from armoury.

More to come..
an intake coming in this September, busy period again, no resting at all after this audit check.

next year April, there would be Taiwan exercise. The log side have to be there for support, I hope I could go there too.

Hope everything goes well and hope I can down my pes. Tomorrow will be the judgement day.
